12/29/24 Sunday Service

Dec 29, 2024    Pastor Jonathon Horner

In this powerful message, we're reminded that God's grace is sufficient to overcome our deepest shame. The story of the young man fleeing naked in Mark 14:51-52 serves as a poignant metaphor for our tendency to hide from God when we feel ashamed. But Jesus took on our shame at the cross, enduring public humiliation and nakedness so that we could be clothed in His righteousness. This profound act of love invites us to 'come out of hiding' and embrace the freedom Christ offers. We're encouraged to stop identifying with our past failures and instead see ourselves as God sees us - redeemed and beloved. The message challenges us to confront areas in our lives where we're still living in shame, reminding us that no sin is too great for God's grace. As we approach a new year, we're called to leave behind the weight of shame and step into the fullness of life that Jesus promises.
