On the Other Side of the Circumstance
On the Other Side of the Circumstance
Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” NKJV
Devotional: Life has a way of forcing you to calculate if the odds are in your favor, and it’s reassuring when they are. However, some circumstances are beyond your control, and many times they occur during transition. That’s when you feel overwhelmed by complications and foes coming at you from every angle. Moses and the Israelites no doubt felt this way as they left Egypt. They tried to cling to God’s promise, but threatening circumstances loomed large. They felt sandwiched between tyranny and freedom with Pharaoh’s armies behind them in hot pursuit and the impassable Red Sea in front of them. Yet Moses spoke with confidence. “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” God sent a strong wind that parted the waters and they spent a long, anxious night hurrying across on dry ground. The next morning they watched dumbfounded as Pharaoh’s army drowned when the waters came crushing back together. Then they danced and sang praises to God. We may feel surrounded by overwhelming odds but we must draw strength from the Lord and rest on the promise that He will fight for us. On the other side of the circumstance, we can praise God for victory.
Prayer: Dear Lord, in the midst of adversity we ask that You fight for us. We may feel that we face insurmountable odds but help us to see that with You on our side all things are possible. Thank You for being our protector. We put our trust in You. You are God and in You all things are perfect!
