God Changed Me
God Change Me
Genesis 32:28
Devotional: “And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.” I remember in high school I was the guy that people feared. Detention was my second home. I was the guy that had the bad reputation in the dean’s office. But my life drastically changed after I was filled with the Holy Ghost. I remember feeling so different on the inside, but I looked the same on the outside. As I continued to live my faith out in school, my grades improved, my attitude got better, and before long my reputation completely changed. I remember sitting in science class when a student commented on how smart I was. I was shocked! That never happened before. I remember a teacher pulling me aside to tell me that my parents must be so proud of me because I was such a nice young man. This affected me because little did she know I never knew my father, and my mother was an alcoholic. I’m living proof that God can change you if you let Him.
Prayer: Father, Thank You for the life-changing power in Your Word, Your name, and Your blood. I am a new creature; old habits, old thinking, and even old friends are in my past. They are behind me. I embrace the future You have for me with new habits, new thinking patterns, and new friendships.
